RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. No responsibility for loss or theft of articles left in Changing Rooms, Ballrooms, or Hotel Rooms can be accepted by the Organizer or by the National Dance Council of America and neither can they be held liable for injury sustained by persons attending this event. Everyone attending does so at his/her own risk. All individuals attending this event, whether as spectators, competitors, officials or guests of the organizers, shall be bound by the NDCA rules, and by participating in this event automatically become obliged to adhere to them.
  2. No personal video taping or filming will be allowed. There will be a professional video production company and photographer on hand to record your dancing. Tapes and photographs will be made available for purchase.
  3. The Organizer cannot be held responsible for any personal charges made to the hotel. All participants must pay for their own personal charges including phone charges and room service.
  4. The decision of the judges shall be final.
  5. All event time schedules are approximate and are subject to change. For Student events, we request that you, your students, and your music be in the ballroom and ready to perform at least 30 minutes prior to any published time schedules.
  6. Scholarships are not separated by sex (see entry form). Scholarship events must have a minimum of three couples in order to pay full scholarship money and entrants must have a minimum of four freestyle entries in order to qualify for prize money.
  7. A student may not dance both closed and open scholarships in the same style.
  8. A student may dance both the Bronze and Silver Closed scholarships.
  9. Age Divisions: See appropriate entry forms. Pro/Am and Amateur may enter true age category and one division younger. (Except Pre-Teen, Junior and Youth)
  10. Material used in closed competitions should be based on the current NDCA Rules and Regulations.
  11. In all categories entrants may dance up to two consecutive levels higher than the proclaimed standard for further exposure. For example entering Newcomer, Intermediate Bronze, and Full Bronze is acceptable, however, Newcomer and Intermediate Silver are not. Entrants may submit entries in completely different levels in International style versus American style.
  12. Open Divisions are not material restricted. Dancers must still enter only their level and above, i.e. Intermediate Silver or above dancer may not enter a Bronze division.
  13. Solos are limited to 2:45 minutes. Solo judging is on impression; students receive scores and comments.
  14. Dress Code: Newcomers: Suits and Cocktail dresses are recommended. All other student levels are open for Latin Dresses or Ball gowns for the Ladies and Tuxedos, Tails or Cat Suits for the men. Novice and Pre-Novice: Optional Attire.
     16. Cancellations and refunds: The deadline for cancellation refunds is two weeks prior to the event. If the Organizer is notified after that deadline, refunds will be considered only in case of emergency and will require a doctor’s certificate. Refunds will be mailed thirty days after the event. No substitutions are allowed for entry cancellations at the event. No exchanges or refunds will be made on admission tickets after September 24, 2006.
